From Monaco to Cannes, Picasso is celebrated through almost all the French Riviera.
The art gallery La Malmaison on La Croisette, Cannes, hosts “Picasso, Nudity Set Free” until 27th october. “Featuring over one hundred works (ceramics, paintings, engravings, drawings) taken from the collection of Marina Picasso, the granddaughter of the artist and Olga Kokhlova, the exhibition demonstrates the recurrent presence of nudes in the artist’s work, and the extraordinary sensitivity with which he regarded them”.
Cannes has also joined forces with the towns of Mougins and Vallauris to exhibit Picasso’s works. The streets become art galleries through large format photographs reflecting PIcasso’s life in those 3 cities.
The Grimaldi Forum at Monaco also hosts the exhibition of more than 150 works, “Monaco celebrates Picasso” until 15th september, based on two groups:
- “Picasso and the Côte d’Azur” trace Picasso’s journeys on French Riviera. From Antibes-Juan-les-Pins to Golfe-Juan, Mougins and Cannes, visitors will discover Picasso’s life on French Riviera between 1920 and 1946.
- “Picasso and the Nahmad Collection” represents a collection compiled over the past fifty years. A unique collection of masterpieces around the world.
